In consequence of the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, the in-person work field with deaf and hearing students was cancelled.
With the partner-schools closed, we ought to explore online alternatives for the user experience (UX) tests with new participants.
After advertising on GBL4deaf site and social media networks and contact directly with deaf associations, we were able to gather a group of four deaf student participants: two girls and two boys deaf students with 10, 12, 13 and 14 years old; and five hearing students: two boys and three girls with 11 and 12 years old.
Following informed consents and game download instructions sent by email to the parents, the UX sessions took place on Zoom platform for a one-hour mean duration. The quantitative and qualitative data collected is now in the process of being analysed.
